Mzansi female celebs who should run for president – Pictures

South Africa’s general elections are drawing near, and citizens would need to think critically about which party they want to lead the country. Between Eskom’s constant load shedding and SA’s high crime rate, many are frustrated and want serious change.

The ANC, DA and EFF seem to be this year’s front runners, but do voters need some fresh faces added to the mix. We have put together a list of Mzansi stars who we think would make great presidents.
The idea of having a celebrity as a politician is not as farfetched as it seems.

US president Donald Trump once starred in a successful reality show and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger served as the governor of California for around eight years.

S-e-x and the City star Cynthia Nixon ran for New York governor in 2018 and Child actress Shirley Temple Black was appointed US ambassador to Ghana in 1974. Back home in SA, we think that these stars could help make a positive difference if they were politicians.

DJ Zinhle
DJ Zinhle is one of the wisest women we know. Granted, she did take her cheating ex-boyfriend AKA back, but Zinhle has qualities many leaders can learn from. She does not hold on to anger and hate.

“The energy of not forgiving and letting go is a lot. It takes away from you more than anyone else. You have to let things go for the sake of yourself. And there’s a lot that you can learn from it.

DJ Zinhle

“Learning comes from accepting that this was meant to happen and understanding that there’s a lesson,” she told Dennis Ngango during a 2018 interview.

Nomzamo Mbatha
Actress Nomazamo Mbatha has a heart of gold. The philanthropist is committed to helping the disadvantaged and recently became UNHCR’s newest Goodwill Ambassador.

Her activism has earned recognition from as far afield as North America. New York State Senator Kevin Parker presented Nomzamo with the Legislative Resolution during a ceremony in the Big Apple last month. The award was in recognition of her work with Youth Development in KZN for her foundation, The LightHouse, that assists young people suffering from depression, anxiety and suicide as well as her advocacy in highlighting the plight of refugees.

Nomzamo will no doubt put South African first if she were president. No wasting money on multi-million rand fire pools!

Connie Ferguson
Connie Ferguson proved that she has the beauty and the brains when she left Generations to focus on her business ventures. The actress now has her own beauty line and production company.

“In 2010, I did the scariest thing ever and left Generations, sometimes this is where you have to trust your instincts and take a chance. I had sleepless nights thinking If I had made the right decision. We knocked on many doors and eventually M-net’s door opened,” she said during a speech at Business Fair’s Women Economic Engagement forum in Durban last year.

With Connie’s money skills SA can say bye-bye to unnecessary expenditure.

Kelly Khumalo

It takes a tough individual with thick skin to be president. Every move you make will be judged and the feedback is not always great.

One woman who knows all too well what it is like to be constantly criticised is Kelly Khumalo. But the singer does not let it get to her because she will not let anyone or anything get in the way of her dreams.

“You Think a bunch of bullies who find comfort in hurting ppl would scare me? Think again I am the Light and the Power of God in a human form. Dare touch me!” she tweeted after walking off stage at an EFF rally in March.

Khanyi Dhlomo
Khanyi Dhlomo has been breaking the glass ceiling since her twenties. The media mogul is not intimidated when she was walks into a boardroom full of men. She is confident in her skills and knows how to get the job done.
