Hard work and determination is the recipe to the success of any media personalities across the globe and South Africa has a fair share of talented celebrities who have achieved greatness through entertaining Mzansi.
Nandi Madiba nee Mngoma is one familiar multi-talented personality with notable success in fashion, music and television presenting.
The 30-year-old received some spotlight at the age of 15 when she got her first television gig to host SABC2’s pre-teen entertainment show Bling in 2004, but that alone was not enough for the ambitious Nandi.
She later tried her luck on different presenter search shows for LIVE and O- Access which she lost to childhood friend Minnie Dlamini and Dineo Moeketsi respectively. However, that slight failure did not deter her hard work as she continued with other endeavours till she marked her rise to fame with the release of her first single Tonight which was followed by her debut album in 2012.
A music career on the high, Nandi went on to present several TV shows including All Access Mzansi, Coke Studio, Made In Africa, BET A-List as well as taking a shot at telenovelas where she featured in The Road.
With her passion for fashion which began in high school when she used to sell matching t-shirts for couples, Nandi launched and funded her own fashion label COLOUR which she says was 100% her own financial effort without any sponsorship.
Nandi’s products continue to receive positive feedback from local and international fashion critics who believe her brand represents a unique African taste in fashion. Today her fashion career has reached some notable heights with collaborations with top designers across the globe as well as showcasing her unique collection at the New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
The star is all about building a strong empire and leaving a legacy of one who was never afraid to experiment with fashion, music, television to perfect motherhood evidenced by her purchase of a piece of land for her 1-year-old.
From all corners of Nandi’s life script, she is an inspiration to many and we can’t help but envy how she manages to have it all together, a huge career and the perfect hubby in Zakes Bantwini as the pair is always gushing about each other on social media.
