Mzansi Celebs spotted at the #CintronPinkPolo cancer awareness

Mzansi Celebs spotted at the #CintronPinkPolo cancer awareness. The annual event which happens to kick off the polo season in Cape Town also aims to celebrate breast cancer survivors.

Local celebrities donned shades of pink and the Cintron Pink Polo in support of breast cancer awareness at Val De Vie Estate in Paarl on Saturday.

The picturesque estate acted as the perfect background for the polo matches as attendees dressed in their best garb to support the cause. Some of the A-list celebs in attendance include — among others — Ryk Neethling, Maps Maponyane, Minkie van der Westhuizen, Chris Jaftha and Simz Ngema.

Speaking to “Expresso Morning Show” host Katlego Maboe on why he agreed to co-emcee the event he says, “First of all when you get asked to host alongside Rolene Strauss the only answer is yes.

“Secondly, this is support of a very worthy cause and R100k being handed over to the Pink Drive who do incredible work on the ground in great. So, if you can put your energy into something that makes a difference how can you say no.”

His fellow co-host former Miss South Africa, Rolene Strauss also shared her thoughts on why breast cancer awareness is important saying, “Breast cancer awareness means that you need to know it might happen to you. So I think it means that you need to know that it touches so many lives around us.

“Prevention is better than cure and there are so many things as a man and a woman you can do. Such as self-examination and knowing when to go to your doctor.”

This is also the first year since the event’s creation that the Children Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC) benefited from the Pink Food Truck Fair area where R100 per ticket sold was donated to CHOC.
