Monday nights are awesome for Mzansi soapie lovers

Monday nights are awesome for Mzansi soapie lovers. And if you’re fighting for screen time, no worries… just register for DSTV Now and watch Mzansi Magic on your smartphone, tablet, computer or laptop.

It’s Monday night, which means all the drama! From 18:57 to 21:00 don’t bother your mom, your auntie, granny or anyone hooked on their Monday night soapies. Mzansi Magic is on fire with local entertainment, with new episodes kicking off the week in style.

18:57 – The Throne

The Throne

Nothing ever ends well when there’s a power struggle, especially if there’s royal family involved. Set in the mythical Batswana Kingdom, the Ferguson Films production will shock you as it reveals just how ruthless people can be when they want to get to the top. If you thought being a member of a royal family was full of glitz and glamour, you better get rid of that fantasy.

19:27 – Isithembiso

Isithembiso

We don’t care which TV series it is, we’d probably watch anything that Hamilton Dlamini is on. The legendary South African actor is part of the many reasons why you will fall in love with Isithembiso.

Not only that, but we appreciate fact that the telenovela has a strong focus on young people, and clearly depicts what happens when they make bad decisions and find themselves in dangerous situations. A show that’s both entertaining and educational? Yes, please.

20:00 – Housekeepers

Thando Thabethe

How far would you be prepared to go to get justice for your loved one? Well, for Linda Ndlovu, whose mother was unfairly taken away from her and her brother, there’s really no limit. She finds herself having to live a double life and taking a job as a housekeeper so that she can clear her mother’s name.

As you might expect, this will not be an easy task. You need to follow her journey to see what tricks she has up her sleeve.

20:30 – Isibaya

Isibaya

Isibaya became an instant hit when it first aired on our screens a few years ago. This doesn’t come as a shock because the show, about the drama that unfolds when a long-standing taxi-related family feud refuses to end, has some of the country’s biggest and most talented actors.

Since we started following the soapie, we’ve grown to respect the work the goes behind putting a show together. It’s also always refreshing to see a show that tackles real-life problems faced by ordinary people. There is no way you can watch Isibiya and not find yourself relating to at least one character.

21:00 – The Queen

The Queen

If you want to know what real love looks like, just take a look at how far Harriet Khoza will go to protect her family. This woman has done it all; she’s lied and killed, all in the name of keeping her loved ones safe. But there’s one thing she just can’t seem to get right, and that’s making peace with the Mabuza family. There’s always drama around these two proud families.
