Miss South Africa Adè van Heerden sustained minor injuries following a car accident in Randpark Ridge in Johannesburg.
The Miss South Africa organisation confirmed the incident which took place on Sunday on Twitter.
According to the tweet Adè sustained “minor bumps and bruises” but is doing “well.”
The Daily Sun reported that at the time of the accident Adè was driving the Nissan X Trail she received as part of her prize package when she took over the Miss South Africa crown from Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
Speaking to The Juice Stephanie Weil from Nine Squared Communication Events said that they are still awaiting full details of the accident from the South African Police Service and confirmed that no one was seriously harmed during the incident.
The organisations went on to thank everyone for respecting the beauty queen’s privacy while she recovers.
