The former first lady of the USA Michelle Obama is set to host a reading series for kids titled Mondays With Michelle Obama. She has partnered Penguin Young Readers, Random House Children’s Books and PBS kids to read children’s books to children all over the world as part of the Read Together, Be Together. The initiative will be on Facebook and YouTube. Mondays With Michelle will kick off on 20 April until 11 May 2020 and will see Michelle read some of her favourite children’s picture books.
In a statement, Michelle shared that her love for reading started when she was a child. She said in part; “As a little kid, I loved to read aloud. And when I became a parent, I found such joy in sharing the magic of storytelling with my own children—and then later, as first lady, with kids everywhere,” she said. “At this time when so many families are under so much stress, I’m excited to give kids a chance to practice their reading and hear some wonderful stories (and to give parents and caretakers a much-needed break).” Michelle Obama to host a reading series for kids.
