Maps Maponyane’s food joint Buns Out recently revealed that it is hiring.
The popular burger joint took to its social media pages to announce they were looking for chefs, waiters and bar attendants. They requested people to come through for interviews as well as bring CVs.
With South Africa having a skyrocketing unemployment rate, especially for the youth, people pulled through in their numbers at the burger joint that is located in Linden, Joburg.
This left a lot of people on social media shocked, putting Maps and his joint under fire and calling him reckless.
“It was high key reckless for Buns Out to say everyone must come with their CVs as opposed to emailing,” Mpho Khumalo said.
While Thizo Mokoena said: “Apparently that queue ya ko Buns Out ke for one vacancy. What did our people do to deserve such high rates of unemployment in this country?”
While Khandisa also commented and said it’s sad to see what was happening outside of Buns Out.
“It’s sad. Imagine how many people are in that queue already losing hope because of the number of people that came through? South Africa is in the dumps,” she said.
Siya said he went to drop someone off at the popular food joint and he was saddened to see the number of unemployed youth.
“I went to Buns Out to drop someone off there for the interview. Eish, I felt the pain due to the number of youth I saw. The unemployment rate is far more than you can imagine. We need to start projects and even get funds, teach each other different hand skills,” he said.
Daily Sun reached out to the owner and media personality of the popular burger joint, and he told the SunTeam that he is currently not available to take any interviews.
