At 10H40 Monday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting on De Korte Street in Braamfontein.
Reports from the scene indicate that 23-year-old adult male was shot in the head in what was alleged to be a robbery.
Paramedics assessed the scene and found the patient in a critical condition and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise him.
Once treated the patient was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
Circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown however SAPS was on scene and will be investigating.
