SABC1 new prime-time drama series Makoti has made history by becoming Mzansi’s most drama series, reaching a total of 4.7 million viewers per episode.
The series, which stars TV presenter Siphesilhle Vazi, Thulisile Phongolo and veteran actress Thina Jaxa, among others, tells a story of modern woman, who marries into a traditional family still stuck in the traditional way of doing things and makes life difficult for her daughter in law, who is a city girl.
Vazi thanked viewers of the show, which airs every Wednesday at 20:30 and wrote on Instagram account: “Word just came in that @makoti_sabc1 has reached number 1 most watched series in the country with a max viewership of 4.7 million per episode Thank you South Africa. Siyabonga
