Karima Brown wins court case against EFF

The South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg has ruled in favour of journalist Karima Brown against the Economic Freedom Fighters.

The court also found the EFF contravened the Electoral Code and must pay costs.

Brown received death and rape threats after EFF leader Julius Malema posted her cellphone number on his Twitter account.

The saga unfolded in the electioneering period when Brown wanted the court to find that the party contravened parts of the electoral code.

In a brief statement, the EFF said it welcomed the court’s ruling and would comply.
