TV and media personality Jessica Nkosi is the latest celebrity to fall prey to a fake account causing quite a stir on Instagram. Jessica, who is usually down to earth and a sweetheart, was distraught when fans notified her of a fake Instagram account which scams her fans.
In a series of screenshots, the actress shared on her Instagram stories that the imposter (who pretends to be her) is soliciting money from her fans.
The imposter sent a DM to one of Jessica’s fans saying the account has been created by Jessica to appreciate her fans. The follower stumbled upon this and decided to report the awkward situation to the starlet.
Jessica came out guns blazing to put the imposter on blast, she wrote, ” I hate that this person is lying and trying to get money out of people on my name.”
She further pleaded with her fans to help her report the fake account, but fortunately, the account has since been deleted.
Jessica cautioned her fans that she has one verified Instagram account and urged them not to fall prey of any scams under her name.
The TV personality is not the only one to be a victim of such scams, numerous celebrities have faced the same battle over the years. Earlier last year, Somizi discovered a fake page that was giving fans inappropriate cheating and sex advice. The content on the page went viral; with thousands of people talking about it at the time.
