Gauteng: At 11H26 Saturday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R24 Rustenburg Road near Magalies Junction in Magaliesburg.
Reports from the scene indicate that a light motor vehicle and a heavy motor vehicle were involved in a collision.
Medics assessed the scene and found that two adult females had sustained serious injuries.
The patients required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilize them while the West Rand Fire and Rescue Services used hydraulic tools to free them from the wreckage.
Due to the nature of one of the patients injuries a Netcare 911 Helicopter ambulance airlifted the most severely injured patient to a specialist facility for the care she required.
