Kohli named captain of ICC Test Team of the Decade

India skipper Virat Kohli has been named the captain of a star-studded ICC Test Team of the Decade.

Kohli has been named captain of the ICC’s Test Team of the Decade, having also being named the captain of the Test Team of the Year in each of the past three years. He also became the only men’s player to be named in ICC’s Test, ODI, and T20I Teams of the Decade.

England had the most representatives in the side, with four players – opener Alastair Cook, the hugely successful fast-bowling pair of James Anderson and Stuart Broad, and star all-rounder Ben Stokes.

Australia had two players making it to a star-studded XI, with their batting heavyweights David Warner and Steve Smith getting the nod. The batting was rounded out by New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara, who was also given wicketkeeping duties.

The bowling is completed by South Africa’s Dale Steyn, who topped the MRF Tyres ICC rankings for Test bowlers for much of the first half of the decade, and India’s R Ashwin who was named as the sole spinner.
