Liverpool is knocking the ball around nicely at the moment. Manchester City is going to have to be patient for their opportunity.

Just as Liverpool would have wanted it and a magnificent strike from Fabinho – but the usual VAR controversy as Manchester City was convinced they should have had a penalty.

Anfield is rocking and now Manchester City must respond. What a perfect start for Liverpool as they go to half-time leading Man City 2-0.

Liverpool has never previously lost any of the 232 Premier League matches at Anfield when they have led by two or more goals, drawing five and winning 227 of those matches.
