Fifa World Cup - Russia 2018

HT Brazil 0 – 0 Mexico #WorldCup

Half-time: Brazil 0-0 Mexico The sides are level at the break, with no goals yet. Both sides have had their chances and it’s probably fair to say that both managers will be pleased enough with what they’ve seen. Mexico boss Juan Carlos Osorio has every right to be very pleased indeed with the manner in which his players have gone about their business.

This game has got off to a quick start. Brazil has enjoyed the ball more but Mexico have shown their threat on the counter. Lozano, Vela and Hernandez look fluid. It should be a cracking game.

Mexico certainly possesses a threat. This time Vela gets forward before sliding a pass across the box for Herrera who cuts past his man and unleashes a shot. However, an alert set of defenders get their body in front of the shot.

NEYMAR Denied! Sensational wing play from the PSG star. He twists and turns on the left wing before getting past two defenders into the box. But his shot from a tight angle is charged down by an alert Ochoa!

No shortage of entertainment in this game so far. Brazil is slowly finding their rhythm. Coutinho enters the box before finding Jesus who evaded a defender and got a shot away which was carried out by Ochoa.

Neymar hacked down by Edson Alvarez and the referee shows the first yellow of the game. It’s been an entertaining half so far but one that has produced no goals. Mexico was very energetic with their counters early on but Brazil soon grew into the game. Despite Neymar and Jesus producing several chances, they have been unable to breach the Mexican defence.
