Gauteng premier David Makhura: Gauteng to move to Level 3 in June

Gauteng premier David Makhura says the province will be easing lockdown restrictions in June. Speaking during a virtual legislature sitting on Tuesday, Makhura said Gauteng will move to Level 3 at the beginning of June.

He says the province has less than 15 percent of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country, but the peak is still coming. Makhura says all districts in the country’s economic hub will move together since they are highly integrated.

TV presenter Candice Modiselle joined forces with a contemporary African print brand “Haute Afrika” to help feed disadvantage communities in Joburg during the national lockdown. In a video clip shared on her Instagram account, the former “Generations: The Legacy” star is seen taking to the streets of Zandspruit, an informal settlement just outside of Honeydew, in Randburg, to help distribute food parcels.
