Gauteng premier David Makhura says the province will be easing lockdown restrictions in June. Speaking during a virtual legislature sitting on Tuesday, Makhura said Gauteng will move to Level 3 at the beginning of June.
He says the province has less than 15 percent of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country, but the peak is still coming. Makhura says all districts in the country’s economic hub will move together since they are highly integrated.

In a video clip shared on her Instagram account, the former “Generations: The Legacy” star is seen taking to the streets of Zandspruit, an informal settlement just outside of Honeydew, in Randburg, to help distribute food parcels.
