Responsible for product design, from conceptualisation to final product, ensuring adherence to the agreed aesthetics of the Kisua brand.
Liaises with external and in-house designers, develops creative ideas and concepts, manages design projects, and is responsible for the quality of the final product.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy
Development and managing of the Kisua brand, ensuring alignment to the vision
Formulates fashion design concepts
Analyses international trends forecasts, including traditional African fashion, and incorporates applicable information in the business strategy
Ensures local and global industry experts’ input is incorporated into strategy where applicable
Presents new business opportunities for consideration
Business Performance
Formulates fashion design concepts to portray styles that are appealing to the target market and enhance the story for a cohesive overall design
Liaises with external and in-house designers regarding the Kisua vision, providing design briefs, and highlighting the required Kisua aesthetics are adhered to

valuates designs received from external designers, ensuring Kisua aesthetics are adhered to
Drafts the 1st
specification sheet, and makes recommendations on garments, fabrics and quality assurance
Ensures the final technical pack is complete and accurate before sending to the manufacturer
Leads and inspires the designers to continuously generate multiple ideas and concepts for specific campaigns
Signs off on pre-production and bulk product samples
Works closely with the marketing department to ensure the correct visual language is used to portray the Kisua brand and story for each drop

nalyses feedback received from the customer service department, and reacts timeously to any issues
Financial Controls
In conjunction with the finance department manages each project’s financial budgets
Monitors performance against budgets and targets, and timeously deals with any variances
Leadership
Fosters a culture of continuous learning and high performance with the internal and external designers
Develop and maintain an entrepreneurial, winning approach in the design team
Communication
Cultivates strong and transparent working relationships with internal and external parties and ensures open communication with all
Communicates with the designers on all matters relating to product design
Required Skills
bachelors degree
fashion designer : 4 to 5 years
Candidate Requirements
Skills
Good understanding of the fashion value chain, including fabric sourcing, garment production, logistics and retail
Good understanding of global fashion trends and knowledge of African fashion
Qualifications
Bachelor’s/master’s degree in Fashion
+4 years experience in design
This position reports to: Senior Designer/Operations Manager
