Family and pets escape house fire

KwaZulu-Natal: At 07H59 Tuesday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a house fire in Northdene, Durban. Reports indicate that a fire had broken out on the ground level of the house.

The occupants, who were at home at the time, heard small expositions, went out to investigate and saw three of the lower floor rooms alight.

All occupants and their pets had safely evacuated from the house. The Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services arrived on scene who managed to douse the flames.

Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the SAPS who were on scene.

Western Cape: At 07H26 Tuesday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on Frans Conradie Drive in Goodwood, Cape Town. Reports indicate that a motorcyclist hit a pedestrian running across the road.

Medics assessed the scene and found that the pedestrian had sustained serious injuries following a traumatic amputation on his lower left leg. Learn more
