The Life Esidimeni tragedy continues to be a thorn in the Gauteng government’s side.
Families are now threatening to protest outside Premier David Makhura’s office on Monday.
That’s because they haven’t received their promised compensation.
In March – retired Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke ordered government to pay the families of all Life Esidimeni patients from R1.2-million each.
At least 144 psychiatric patients died – after being moved from ill-equipped NGOs in 2016.
