The management is being accused of hiding information about the COVID-19 infection rate at the facility. It is alleged at least four nurses were placed in isolation after testing positive. KwaZulu-Natal has the third-highest number of COVID-19 cases in the country, with eThekwini being the province’s epicentre.
KZN Department of Health MEC, Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu denied that the province is concealing the number of infections during a virtual briefing on health and social services with the Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize on Monday morning. Simelane-Zulu said when the nurse tested positive she informed everyone and all contacts were traced.
Premier @sziks: On this day, we wish to pay tribute to all the health workers in KZN for their commitment to the health and well-being of the people of KwaZulu-Natal. As government, we are fully aware that we need to do more to improve the working conditions of this sector.
