DJ Tira: I tried to help Babes & Mampintsha

DJ Tira: I tried to help Babes & Mampintsha. Tira found himself being accused of not doing his best to help the couple deal with their toxic relationship.

For the past week, DJ Tira alongside Babes Wodumo & Mampintsha has been the topic of discussion ever since Babes and Mampintsha’s video surfaced.

Clearly disappointed and saddened by the situation, Tira sent out a statement sympathizing with Babes Wodumo and condemning the backlash that was directed towards him as seen in the below statement.

It’s a week later, and Tira has now spoken to Drum magazine about Babes and Mampintsha’s relationship.

In the interview, DJ Tira told the publication that things were not so rosy between the couple and that he had tried numerous times to steer the two in the right direction and to show them how couples should treat each other. Unfortunately, his advice fell on deaf ears, hence the altercation from last week.

Although DJ Tira is close friends with Mampintsha he showed no signs of being biased as he told Drum that even though Mampintsha is his friend, Mampintsha still needs to be punished for his actions.

Mampintsha handed himself to the police two days after the video went viral, he then appeared at the Pinetown Magistrate court after his arrest where he appealed for bail.

The West Ink founder was then released on R2,000 bail. After his court appearance, Mampintsha spoke to the media and expressed that he is the abused one in the relationship and that Babes had planned the entire video to make it seem as though he is the abuser in the relationship.

He then placed a counter assault charge against Babes Wodumo.
