Former Minister of Tourism and veteran ANC member Derek Hanekom resigned from parliament on Tuesday.
Hanekom joined Bathabile Dlamini, Jeff Radebe, and Siyabonga Cwele who also recently announced their resignations.
The ANC Parliament Twitter account stated, “the Office of the ANC Chief Whip further confirms having received the resignation letter of former Minister of Tourism comrade Derek Hanekom as an ANC Member of Parliament.”
Hanekom was Tourism Minister but was not included in the latest Cabinet.
He also served as the minister of Science and Technology between 2012 and 2014.
