Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has rejected claims that SA airports have been closed. The minister says operations are continuing as usual. SAA has suspended all international flights until the end of May. The move is part of new measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Mbalula also says people need to stop moving around unnecessarily to curb the spread of the virus. There are now 202 confirmed cases in the country. President Cyril Ramaphosa issued an immediate travel ban on people from high-risk countries affected by the coronavirus.
