This evening Netcare 911 responded to reports of a structural fire in an informal settlement on Blinkbonnie Road in Bonela.
Reports from scene indicate that two minor males and a minor female were in the structure when a fire broke out.
Emergency workers managed to gain entrance and found a 2-year-old female unconscious on the floor with two other boys.
All three were evacuated however upon assessment the young girl was found to have no signs of life and Tragically declared deceased on the scene.
The two boys ages six and seven were treated for severe burns.
Once stabilised the patients were rushed to hospital for further assessment.
Circumstances leading up to the fire will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
