Bournemouth, Everton play to a 1 all draw

Despite having Richarlison sent off for an attempted headbutt on Adam Smith, the visitors took control of proceedings before Theo Walcott raced clear at the start of the second half and angled a shot into the bottom right corner.

Bournemouth fought back from two goals down to salvage a draw against Everton in a compelling contest in which both sides were reduced to 10 men.

Michael Keane – who was later taken off on a stretcher after colliding with team-mate Idrissa Gueye in stoppage time – headed in to double Everton’s lead 10 minutes later after Cherries full-back Smith was dismissed for pulling back Walcott as he advanced towards goal.

But Joshua King initiated a comeback with a penalty, given for a foul by Leighton Baines on Callum Wilson.

Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side have gained a reputation as escapologists by earning a Premier League-high of 24 points from losing positions since the beginning of last season.

And they underlined those credentials again when Nathan Ake prodded in from close range to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

It allowed Bournemouth to temporarily move up to second in the Premier League before the 17:30 BST match between Liverpool and Brighton.

While Everton also maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign, their wider concern will be around Keane, who was treated on the pitch for several minutes before being carried off.
