Bafana Bafana 1 – 0 Zimbabwe

BAFANA Bafana have taken yet another giant step towards the next round of the the World Cup qualifiers.

This after they defeated neighbors Zimbabwe 1-0 at FNB Stadium yesterday in front of some 2000 supporters.

Teboho Mokoena scored the all important goal for Hugo Broos’ charges who continue to impress in their qualifying campaign.

Keagan Dolly, making his return to the Bafana setup after a lengthy spell away, provided a delicious cross that was nodded in by Mokoena.

Bafana are still unbeaten under the 69-year-old Belgian tactician who seems to have completely transformed the national team since he took over the reins from Molefi Ntseki.

His side remain top of Group G with 13 points, three clear of their only competition for a place in the next round, Ghana.

The Black Stars earlier drew 1-1 with Ethiopia at Orlando Stadium, giving Bafana a huge opportunity to extend their gap with a win over the Warriors.

And that’s exactly what Broos’ charges did, producing another professional performance to get the job done.

This has now set up a thrilling final group match between Bafana and the Black Stars at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday (9pm).

It’s set to be the decider with Ghana needing to win at least by two goals to stand a chance of reaching the next round.

Bafana, on the other hand, only need to avoid defeat to guarantee their spot in the next round of the qualifiers and have one foot in the World Cup.
