Architectural Draughtsman required immediately: Salary R20 000 to R25 000 per month
The Architectural Draughtsman is responsible for modelling in CADD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) in order to produce technical drawings for construction purposes, based on his or her own design, rough sketches, calculations, and dimensions.
Minimum requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent certificate essential
Higher Certificate in Architectural Draughting or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
Computer Literate with proven CADD experience (SolidWorks experience beneficial).
Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
Responsibility:
Analyze building specifications, codes, and spaces to create an architectural design.
Prepare detailed architectural drawings for a commercial construction project.
Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, including visiting job sites to compile measurements as and when required.
Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.
Layout and plan the construction project using CADD equipment and software to prepare the drawings, charts, and records.
Supervise, coordinate, and inspect the work of designers and relevant personnel to the construction project.
Work with the architect on the construction site to ensure builder compliance with design specifications and advising on design corrections.
Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to lists of materials.
