RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage supplier payments in accordance with SARS legislation, related regulations and the University’s financial policy;
Finalisation and preparation of invoices for the payment process;
Reconciliation of financial transactions on a monthly and annual basis;
Maintenance and updating of manual and electronic filing system as well as the supplier database;
Confirmation of banking details of suppliers;
Advise and inform internal and external clients on applicable legislation, procedures and policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Three-year Diploma with Accounting;
Three years’ Accounts Payable administration working experience.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

Knowledge of tertiary environment
Knowledge of SARS regulations
Technical Competencies
Accounts reconciliation skills
MS Office
ERP system such as Peoplesoft
Behavioural Competencies
Time Management
Negotiation and communication skills
Ethical conduct
Attention to detail and accuracy
Self-Management
Problem solving

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

Bcom Accounting degree;
Five years’ Accounts Payable administration working experience.

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
