The minister said eight deaths were reported in the Western Cape, two in the Eastern Cape, one in KwaZulu-Natal and one in the North West.
A total of 10,652 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in South Africa.
Mkhize said about 8 million people have been screened countrywide.
